Data importing consists of three main phases. First, you should import the product data from the remote Brodit database. Then, you download the images for the products (actual image files are being downloaded and saved locally during this phase).

At last, you assign prices to the downloaded products. For this purpose you use a special Excel feed provided by Brodit company and edited manually to accommodate it for the program needs. The raw Excel file from Brodit cannot be used directly, since it is not compatible with the program requirements.

For more details on how to accommodate the Brodit raw Excel feed, contact your developer.

Phase 1. Importing Data from Brodit Website

Click the hyperlink below to start the importing process. It will take you to another page where you will see a real-time progress. The process takes a while to complete. Please be patient and wait until a success message appears.

When importing, the existing products are being checked and are not imported again. If you want to import existing products again (update their information, check the box below). Such an update is recommended to be made from time to time, since Brodit may update their technical on the existing products. Also, the products which are not in the Brodit data source, are deleted during the import as non-existing.

Import Method 1. Download Product Text File from Brodit web-site and Parse it.

This method is the new one and preferred to be used, since the text file contains all the products, while the Brodit WebService somehow doesn't provide some of the products and takes much longer to complete.

The whole procedure with the text file importing takes about 5-10 minutes to accomplish (major time part is taken to download the file from Brodit web-site).

Import Method 2 (obsolete). Import Using Brodit WebService.

This method is obsolete and exists only as a backup for a case the first method doesn't work (for example, if Brodit has changed something, which doesn't allow downloading their product text file anymore). Note, that this method hasn't been tested for compliance with the new standards applied. Use it only after consulting with your developer.

Make a stop (do not auto-submit page to import the next brand) after a number of steps:

Phase 2. Download Product Images

After the product data has been imported from the Brodit text file, the images for those products should be downloaded from the Brodit web-site to the mountonus.com host.

This Phase may be used either for initial image download, or later to check whether previously unavailable images became available. Clicking the link below will redirect you to another page and start the downloading process.

Google SEO
Sitemap Creation

Sitemap is a text file which describes all the pages for Google to index. This files is saved in the root web-site folder and accessed by Google when indexing.

Click the button below to update the Sitemap file.

Note, the sitemap file is being written into the folder with a write permission set (the "data" folder above the site root). The program cannot write to the root folder, while Google requires the sitemap file to be in the root. Due to this you should manually copy the updated sitemap from "data" folder to the root folder "httpdocs".

To ease the process for the administrator, the importing procedure has been divided into the steps. Each step represents the importing of a single product brand. After the brand has been imported, this page reloads to display the importing results. Then the page automatically submits itself to start importing the next brand. Do not interrupt the process unless you want to finish it.

Before this screen first appears after you clicked "Import" button on the main page, the program imports all category and brand names and you are presented with this import result. After that stage, during this session the category and brand names will not be imported any more. This speeds up the whole process. During the future importing sessions, category and brand names will be checked for update again.

Please wait, in a while the page will auto submit itself to start importing...

Click the "Abort Importing" button below to stop importing.

Note, if you selected a number of steps to stop after, each 5, 10, 20, 50 or 100 steps the application will stop auto-submission and will require you to click the "Start Importing Next Brand" button manually to proceed. This will free your from waiting the step to complete and "catch" the moment to stop the process.
